This is a record number of seats allotment by the DHE as last year (2012); only 73,000 seats had been allotted in the counselling’s first round. For the session 2012-13, overall only 2.31 lakh admissions were conducted to the UG courses after two rounds of centralised counselling and another round of college level counselling. This year, the admissions are expected to exceed the three lakh mark.

The commerce stream emerged as the most sought after by the students, including courses like BBA (bachelor of business management) and BCA ( bachelor of computer application).

Institutes such as the Holkar College, Indore, and the Sarojini Naidu Girls PG College, Bhopal, saw a cut-off.
