A constable in Jabalpur was suspended on Saturday for allegedly pulling service gun on a commander and fleeing with a register after there was an argument over the constable's absence during duty.
During inspection by a trainee IPS officer on Thursday night, constable Rupesh Dubey of the 6th battalion of the Special Armed Forces was found absent during the duty.
On Friday, the matter was reported to the company commander Pradeep Pandey.
According to sources, Dubey got irritated when Pandey quizzed him about his absence and in a fit of rage, pulled the service gun on Pandey.
Pandey quickly ran out of the office and rushed to another building while Dubey took away the register in which his attendance was marked, the sources added.
"Constable Rupesh Dubey has been suspended," SAF commandant Ashok Goyal said, but refused to comment further.
The SAF has lodged a complaint with the Ranjhi police against Dubey for taking away the register.
Town inspector Anil Mourya said there was no reference of the constable pulling the gun on his senior in the complaint.
