Engineering student stabbed to death in Bhopal
An engineering student was stabbed to death at Jawahar Chowk Bus Stand in Bhopal on Sunday evening. Police suspect that the victim, Shivam Mukati, 20, was killed over a financial dispute.
An engineering student was stabbed to death at Jawahar Chowk Bus Stand in TT Nagar here on Sunday evening. Police said that the victim, Shivam Mukati, 20, was killed over a financial dispute.
Mukati, a resident of Tulsi Nagar, was a IInd year of Bachelor of Engineering (BE) student with a private engineering college. Shivam had gone to the Bus Stand to meet his friends. It was here that a habitual offender Sanjay Sharma alias Sanju Katju and the latter's accomplices attacked him with sharp-edged weapons.
Shivam sustained mulitple injuries in the stomach and back. He died on the spot due to excessive bleeding. Police sources said Shivam spotted Sanju near the Bus Stand. He went to him and demanded the money against a Tablet that Shivam had sold to Sanju about a month back.
This led to a scuffle between them. Sanju and his friends took out sharp-edged weapons and attacked Shivam. Police sources said Shivam's friend, Deepak, who intervened was also beaten up by the accused. City Superintendent of police, TT Nagar, RD Bhardwaj said, "In preliminary investigation, it was found that Sanju and his friends had attacked Shivam. But, we are yet to verify it. We have launched a search to nab Sanju and he will be arrested soon."
