MP: Lokayukta admits probe against 2 ministers, 17 IAS officers pending

The Lokayukta has admitted before the Madhya Pardesh high court that the inquiry into corruption charges against three politicians, including two serving ministers, and 17 IAS officers is still pending.

The Lokayukta has admitted before the Madhya Pardesh high court that the inquiry into corruption charges against three politicians, including two serving ministers, and 17 IAS officers is still pending.

The Lokayukta had recently presented the status report before the high court in response to the court orders following a PIL filed by Nagrik Upbhokta Margdarshak Manch in September.

The investigation is pending against home minister Babulal Gaur, finance minister Jayant Malaiya and former minister Anoop Mishra. The inquiry into corruption charges was initiated against them in 2007.

The report said that two separate investigations were closed against finance minister Jayant Malaiya on June 19, 2013 and February 23, 2012, while an investigation against urban administration minister Kailash Vijayvargiya was closed on June 23, 2014.

Investigations were also closed in two complaints each against former ministers Laxmikant Sharma on February 8, 2012 and April 3, 2014 and Ajay Vishnoi on June 19, 2013 and January 10, 2013 respectively.

The report further says that the investigation into complaints of corruption against 17 IAS officers including Gopal Reddy is pending for past 16 years, Arun Pandey for 9 years, MK Singh for 9 years, MS Bhilal for 10 years.

There are many IAS officers against whom investigation is pending for over last five years, he said.

Investigation against IPS and other cadre officers including FA Khan are pending since year 2003 and Rajesh Gupta and MS Bhrahme since year 2004.
