MP: Unidentified assailants throw acid on youth in Chhatarpur

A youth suffered serious burn injuries when two unidentified bike-borne assailants threw acid on him on Thursday night. The incident took place at Lavkushnagar locality in Chhatarpur district.

A youth suffered serious burn injuries when two unidentified bike-borne assailants threw acid on him on Thursday night. The incident took place at Lavkushnagar locality in Chhatarpur district.

According to the police, the victim, Sandeep Gupta, was at Mandi road market when the unidentified men came on a bike and attacked him. The 30-year-old victim has sustained injuries on his face, neck, chest and hands.

Sandeep was rushed to a private hospital from where he was referred to Chhatarpur district hospital. Doctors said his condition is stable.

Police said the motive behind the attack remains unclear. They are yet to make any arrests in this regard.Gupta works at the Watershed Mission. His mother is a BJP worker and a ward member of the Lavkushnagar Nagar Panchayat.
