The opposition Congress questioned an apparent reluctance of investigators to grill the MP governor’s son who is suspected of having played a key role in one of the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam cases.
Shailesh Yadav, son of governor Ramnaresh Yadav, was named on Monday in special task force's (STF) supplementary chargesheet for taking money for the appointment of 10 candidates.
He, however, was yet to be questioned, prompting the Congress to reiterate its charge that the STF investigation into the multi-layered scam is being done shoddily.
The special investigation team’s (SIT) chairman justice Chandresh Bhushan should take note of the matter and intervene, said senior Congress MLA and former minister Dr Govind Singh.
The SIT has been formed by the MP High Court to monitor STF investigation into the PEB scam that was unearthed in 2013.
Another senior Congress leader and former minister Raja Pateriya said that Ramnaresh Yadav, who is a product of JP movement, should himself come forward and offer his son for questioning in the matter.
"In order to get his 10 candidates selected in the eligibility test conducted for appointment of contract teachers’ grade III, Virpal Singh Yadav hatched a criminal conspiracy with his friend Vijaypal Singh Yadav and accessed son of governor Ramnaresh Yadav — Shailesh, who was given name, roll number of all his candidates and Rs 10.80 lakh collected from those candidates. All of them passed the eligibility test," the report filed in court on Monday said.

{{/usCountry}}Shailesh Yadav’s name appears in the chargesheet on more occasions suggesting that middlemen Arvind Mishra and Arun Yadav worked for Vijaypal Singh, who knew Shailesh Yadav and got his candidates selected through him.
The STF has, nonetheless, abstained from making Shailesh Yadav an accused, besides not questioning him.
