The photographs taken at the time of incident show the injured being helped and taken away by their colleagues. There were no policemen around.

The administration knew well that Navratra witnesses a large number of devouts visiting the temple to have a glimpse of the presiding deity. But it seemed either there was no police personnel at the time of stampede or they were only a few in number not enough to tackle the situation well.

Sehore collector Kavindra Kiyawat has ordered an inquiry into the incident. Additional district magistrate would conduct the inquiry. The security arrangements were reviewed after the incident following which vehicular movement up to the temple has been banned. The handicapped or infirm can go up to the temple with the help of ropeway by paying fee.
