Six killed, 7 injured in road accident in Madhya Pradesh

Six people including two women and as many kids hailing from Maharashtra were killed and seven others injured on Thursday when their vehicle dashed against a tree.

Six people including two women and as many kids hailing from Maharashtra were killed and seven others injured on Thursday when their vehicle dashed against a tree near the road at Matkuli, 80kms from here, police said.

The injured have been admitted to a hospital, Pipariya sub divisional officer of police (SDOP) Kamlesh Kharpusa said.

He said the victims hailed from Matha village of Chandrapur district in Maharashtra and had come to attend a religious function in Pachmarhi.

Initially, it appears that the four-wheeler driver Sanjay, who fled after the accident, dozed off around 5am and that caused the mishap, the SDOP said.
