Swine flu fear as 3 positive cases detected
Detection of two swine flu positive cases in Jabalpur and one in Bhopal during the past few days has put the state health department on alert. Besides, there is one suspected swine flu patient admitted in Bhopal and another in Jabalpur and their swab sample reports are still awaited. Rainy season in the state so far has been largely free from any epidemic despite heavy rains and inundation.
According to information available at the office of chief medical and health officer (CMHO) in Bhopal, sample of a patient from Shajapur admitted at Hamidia Hospital has been sent for confirmation of H1N1 virus while another patient, a 24-year old woman from Hoshangabad undergoing treatment at LBS Hospital has tested positive for the dreaded virus.
Meanwhile, two people who had tested positive for H1N1 influenza last week in Jabalpur have been discharged from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital after recovery.
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital superintendent Dr PK Kasar said two people including a doctor and a minor girl, who were admitted for H1N1 influenza treatment, have recovered and were discharged from the hospital a couple of days ago.
As of now, no person is admitted in the special ward of the hospital, he said. However, Dr Kasar said a suspected H1N1 virus person is in the hospital and his swab sample has been sent for testing.
