Synopsis: Bakri Johny!! That’s the insinuating cry of every man, woman and child in this village when they see Johny (Shreyas Talpade). Afraid of everything and everyone, Johny is one terrified soul. Born into the household of David (Om Puri), a local farmer and being the only son, Johny does what he’s best at to help his ailing father... Nothing!, other than buying lottery tickets every week.

The only thing going in his life is his love for Maria (Madhhurima), the daughter of the biggest gunda of the village and sworn enemy of David... Peter (Paresh Rawal). Armed with two herculean sons, Peter goes to all ends to make sure his daughter and Johny never marry, until one day, hope comes in the form a silent, strong but very hungry man, Sam (Nana Patekar). What happens next is a fun mix of action and drama.

Synopsis: The film is adapted from a highly-acclaimed Gujarati play Kanji Virrudh Kanji, which was made in Hindi as Krishan vs Kanhaiya. It’s the story of Kanji Mehta, an atheist, who runs an antique shop. He buys old-looking religious idols and sells them at exorbitant prices. One day, an earthquake destroys Kanji’s shop. And his insurance company refuses to give him any money, citing the incident as an ‘Act of God’. So, Kanji decides to file a case against God. Everyone turns against him, and his only saviour turns out to be Krishna Vasudev Yadav, who is actually Lord Krishna in disguise! I did not make OMG for money, says Akshay.



Actor Akshay Kumar says that his next production, Oh My God, has not been made with the intention of making money. Instead, the project was a result of pure passion for the concept. "Oh My God is not a film which I made to earn money. It’s a film which I loved, and enjoyed it because I enjoyed the play and what I learnt from the play, I just wanted to share with the audience and that is why I just made this film," says the 45-year-old actor. "So there is no expectation from this film, whatever is going to happen. I’m sure people are going to enjoy because it’s not a preachy thing. Paresh Rawal is not a baba, he is just having fun in the film and I am having fun, that’s it," adds Akshay.



The actor, who plays Lord Krishna in the film, also says that Oh My God does not hurt anyone’s religious sentiments. "This film has got a U certificate, without cuts. Obviously, the censor board has watched the film very carefully so that it does not hurt anyone’s sentiments. This is about a man’s belief which we have brought on the screen and it is not like you have to believe or pray in this particular way," says Akshay.
