Aamir gives mahurat clap for Double Dhamaal

Actor Aamir Khan will be giving the mahurat clap and Anil Kapoor directing the first shot for Double Dhamaal, the sequel to the superhit Dhamaal. Read on.

(1997), to name a few, complete 25 years as partners of their company, Maruti International. And to launch their new movie, Ashok Thakeria and Indra Kumar have roped in actors, Aamir Khan and Anil Kapoor for the

mahurat

of

Double Dhamaal

, the sequel to their runway hit,

Dhamaal

(2007).

Apart from Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey and Ashish Chowdhry, the sequel also features Kangna Ranaut and Mallika Sherawat. Kumar, who also doubles up as the director, says that they wanted the script to be perfect before they started the sequel. Kumar reveals that he trashed 12 scripts before settling for this one. “We don’t want to make a proposal and cheat the audience in the name of a sequel,” he asserts, adding, “It was only three months ago that we finalised this script, which was just in time to start shooting on September 1.”

on October 27,” informs Thakeria. Kumar adds, “I became a director because of them. And since Aamir has already directed a movie, I want Anil to be next. So he will direct the mahurat shot and Aamir will give the clap.”

About their silver jubilee, Kumar says, “Our decade old friendship has helped us develop a better understanding for the good of the production company. Otherwise, a husband and wife don’t stay together for so long these days (laughs).” In the same vein, Thakeria concedes that they do have their share of differences. “But we resolve them with reason and logic. At the end of the day, the film is of utmost importance to both of us.”
