In an irreparable loss to Indian cinema, masterprints of over 60 films were destroyed in a fire that broke out at the The Bombay Talkies studio in Mumbai, on Thursday.

According to reports, prints of classics such as Achhut Kanya (1936), Ziddi (1948), Bandhan (1940) and Jhoola (1942) were reduced to ashes.
