Aanand L Rai, the director of the Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor-starrer Raanjhanaa (2013), is reportedly set to produce his first film — the sequel to his popular romantic film Tanu Weds Manu (2011).

And, a source close to the film-maker tells us that he will also start work on another production soon, which will be directed by Navdeep Singh. The movie is apparently a romantic gangster drama, and will be shot in Canada.
This project is likely to bring some relief to Singh because after his 2007 directorial debut (Manorama Six Feet Under), his secondproject got shelved and the release of his third project, which features Anushka Sharma, has been pushed to next year.
When contacted, Rai says, "I loved Navdeep’s work in Manorama [Six Feet Under]. After watching it, I told myself that if I ever produce a film, I will get it directed by Navdeep. He came up with an interesting script a few days ago, and we decided to go ahead with the project."
