Alia now wants to buy a home in London, but not for herself

Actor Alia Bhatt wants to buy a home in the UK; says it will be for her mother, Soni Razdan.

She is set to move out of her parents’ home soon, as she doesn’t “want to eat into their space”. Even as Alia Bhatt becomes the owner of a house in Mumbai, the 23-year-old wants to buy one in London, UK.

“In my order of priorities [of buying homes], the first is Mumbai, then London, and then Dubai. I want to own a house in London for my mother (Soni Razdan). She loves that city, and so do I. I have a lot of dreams, and they happen to be too big,” says Alia.

In an earlier interview to a Dubai-based newspaper, Alia had said that she would love to buy a house there. “It’s the greatest holiday spot, because it’s so close to Mumbai, but still, a bit far away. So, you can go there, have a good time, and come back soon enough. It’s like you travel to Delhi, and can be back even before you know it,” she says.

So does it mean she can afford homes in such cities? Abhi itna bhi nahin hua hai (I haven’t earned that much yet). I am 23, so, maybe, by the time I am 32, I will buy [a house in London],” she says, laughing.
