Actor Amit Sadh talks about his upcoming web series, which is based on the novel India’s Most Fearless.

Actor Amit Sadh is on cloud nine these days. After his recent film, the Akshay Kumar-starrer Gold became a success, his hands are now full with a web series, based on the first chapter of the book India’s Most Fearless, authored by Shiv Aroor and journalist Rahul Singh, who reports on defence for Hindustan Times. The chapter is about the surgical strikes that happened in 2016.

Amit Sadh was recently seen in the film Gold.

“I am very grateful. I have been working hard for many years, and things are now moving in the right direction. The role is of [Major] Tango, [belonging to] an elite Special Forces unit of the Indian Army. There’s a mission that he has to go on. In India, many people don’t even know we have Special forces, who are one of the bests... the training [they receive], the way they stay active their entire life. I am up for the challenge,” says Amit, who was also seen in the web series Breathe.

He goes on to praise the script. “The book is very well-written, and it’s one of the best scripts I have read. I am excited about it… it has the making of something special. At the end of the day, it’s up to me to prove my mettle. I have got the lead role for the first time,” adds the actor.

His debut Bollywood film, Kai Po Che! (2013) was based on author Chetan Bhagat’s novel, 3 Mistakes of my Life. Many films lately, or which are in the making, have been adaptations of stories / books. About this trend, Amit says, “80 per cent of movies all over the world are based on books. It’s a good place to derive a narrative from. And online platforms give us more [space] to portray a character and tell the story elaborately.”
