Big B extends olive branch to Kareena

Amitabh Bachchan wishes Kareena Kapoor luck for the role that his daughter-in-law Aishwarya was initially meant to do. The megastar seems to have made peace with Madhur Bhandarkar also after last year’s controversy surrounding Heroine.

All is well between Big B and Madhur Bhandarkar It’s said that there are no permanent friends or enemies in Bollywood. This adage has proved true once again. Amitabh Bachchan seems to have made peace with Madhur Bhandarkar, after last year’s controversy surrounding the film, Heroine. It was first announced with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead.

But after the news of her pregnancy, she was replaced by Kareena Kapoor. The change in casting made the Bachchans unhappy. But now, all seems to be well. Big B has wished Kareena a happy birthday in an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati (to be aired on September 21) and even wished her luck with Heroine.

Shooting for the new season of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) has already started. And it seems that one of the first things Amitabh Bachchan has done is mend some apparently burnt bridges with director Madhur Bhandarkar and the team of his next film, Heroine.

While shooting for an episode, contestant Sameer Kumar told Bachchan that he was a huge fan of Kareena Kapoor.

A source tells us, "Sameer mentioned he wanted to wish the actor on her birthday. As this particular episode is scheduled to air on Kareena’s birthday, Bachchan called up Kareena to make Sameer’s wish come true. Bachchan himself wished Kareena and gave his blessings for Heroine. The chat between the two stars lasted a few minutes, with everyone on the set listening."

It seems that Kareena herself was initially supposed to go on KBC as a guest, but that didn’t work out due to her hectic schedules.

"So when this opportunity to interact with a contestant on the show came her way, Kareena agreed to interact with her fan and with Big B."

This is the first time that Amitabh or anyone from the Bachchan family has shown support towards Heroine after Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was replaced by Kareena in the film’s lead role. It hints at a reconciliation between the Bachchans and Madhur and Kareena. In fact, Madhur met Bachchan recently on the sets of an ad film, and they had a long chat. "Everything is fine between them now as the makers of Heroine prepare to release their film on September 21," says the source.

Kareena Kapoor catwalks on Dubai beach to promote Heroine

In a dramatic arrival to promote herupcoming film Heroine, Kareena Kapoor flew in on a sea-plane, reached the shore in a motorboat and then sashayed down the red carpet laid out on a blistering beach here.

It looks like producers UTV are going the whole hog to promote the Kareena-starrer, Heroine. The production house has organised a special interaction with the media on board a cruise ship in Dubai. And that’s not all, apparently, Kareena will make a filmi entry at the event, by landing in a seaplane.

“We want to match the vibe and the style of the promotion with the glitz and glamour of the film itself. Kareena gets the brandwagon for Heroine
Women-centric films have caught the right attention in recent times, thanks to unique content and strong roles. But for Heroine, Kareena Kapoor has gone a step ahead and managed to bring as many as eight brands on board - said to be the most for any female-oriented Hindi movie so far.

According to industry sources, an estimate of at least Rs.20 crore of brand-spends will be blocked for promotions of Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine, releasing on September 21.

Madhur Bhandarkar hasn't really needed strong music for his films, for he compensates for everything that his movie lacks in his plot, direction and acting.

For his movie Fashion (2008), there were two very strong songs in the film that eventually came to become big musical hits- Kuch Khaas Hai and Mar Jaawan.

Actor Kareena Kapoor’s peppy number Halkat Jawani from Heroine is grabbing eyeballs. It has crossed over one million hits on YouTube. The video has received a stupendous response.From Ganesh Acharya’s choreography to Kareena’s svelte looks, viewers have praised the song for all its aspects.Heroine will release Sep 21. Though the song is being called as an item number, the makers say that it is a situational song.

Being part of Heroine was my destiny: Kareena
Actress Kareena Kapoor feels she was destined to do director Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine and says the film is very close to her heart.

Bhandarkar first offered the lead role to Kareena but she couldn't do it due to date issues and it went to Aishwarya Rai. However, Aishwarya subsequently opted out due to pregnancy.
