Deepika Padukone too busy for Salman Khan

Over the past week or so, Deepika Padukone has been in the news for being approached to play the female lead opposite Salman Khan in the upcoming film, Kick. But now, although Deepika is almost confirmed for Sajid Nadiadwala’s debut directorial venture, her dates are still proving to be an issue.

Sajid wants Deepika to block four months (from August-November) for Kick, but due to her other commitments, she can only offer dates in slots of 10 to 15 days at a time. And that is proving to be the final hurdle before everything is made official,says an insider, close to the film unit.

Otherwise too, Salman’s dates are priority for the producer. You can’t possibly ask Salman to alter his working manner to fit another actor’s dates. Also factors like bad weather conditions or health issues also have to be taken into consideration as they too can put the film on hold or delay the shoot. The makers have to keep these aspects in mind,adds the insider.

We have also been informed that Deepika — who is currently busy shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela, Ayan Mukerji’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express — has told Sajid that she eagerly wants to be part of Kick.

The Cocktail (2012) actor, on her part, has also insisted in the past that she would love to work with Salman. When contacted, Sajid says, Talks are still in progress. So it’s too early for me to comment.
