Actor Divya Dutta, who has proved herself as an actor with movies like Veer-Zaara and Delhi-6, is busy writing a book these days. “Writing is something that comes naturally to me, like acting. I have always been passionate about writing and I am writing my first novel right now,” shares Divya.

However, that is not all, the actor, who has won critical acclaim for her performance in films like Veera Zara and Delhi 6 says she wants to try her hands at film direction. “I would love to direct films and it’s certainly on the cards,” says Divya, who was recently seen in the Karan Johar’s teen-film, Gippy.

However, she is quick to clarify that there’s still some time before she dons the director’s hat. “I am lucky that I have worked with some wonderful directors so far — Madhur Bhandarkar and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, among others. I am planning to direct films in the future, but nothing right now,” she adds.

Ask her if she would want to assist a director before taking on a film independently, and she says, “You don’t need to assist anybody to become director.”
