Ekta Kapoor’s heroine passes out

The leading lady of Ekta Kapoor’s paranormal romantic thriller, Raginni MMS, Kainaz Motivala passed out while shooting a choking scene for the film.

has wrapped up in 20 days. And the film’s leading lady, Kainaz Motivala, can finally sleep easy after almost three weeks of long shoots and little food that left her completely drained. “Perhaps that’s why when we were filming an emotional scene in which Raj Kumar has to strangle me, I suddenly blanked out and collapsed in his arms,” she recalls.

Director Pavan Kriplani recalls watching that particular scene on the monitor in the operating room. “One minute Raj was choking Kainaz as planned and the next she was out cold. For a while we all assumed that it was an improvised bit of playacting. Then Raj realised that Kainaz wasn’t reacting and started shouting for help,” Kriplani narrates, remembering how they all panicked till she came back to her senses.

Some believe that Raj Kumar may have applied a little more pressure on her neck than required. Kriplani points out that it’s a thin line that can easily be crossed in a moment of high drama. “But I personally think that it was more a reaction to fatigue and an empty stomach. We’d been shooting all day and this was the last shot,” he reasons.

“There was a room there that gave out strange vibes. There was a

on the walls, some childlike scribbles and artwork. Whenever any of us had a scene that required us to shiver, we’d lock ourselves in the room for 15 minutes and come out all shaken and stirred,” Motivala says.

Buzz was that a video of the ‘choking’ scene that almost went wrong was leaked on the YouTube, but both Kriplani and Motivala have denied it.
