Choreographer-turned-filmmaker Farah Khan has been making Bollywood actors dance to her tunes for over 20 years.

Now, after almost a decade, she will choreograph one of the industry’s best known dancers — Madhuri Dixit — for a special number in Ayan Mukerji’s upcoming film, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Farah and Madhuri last worked in Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam (2002).

“We have only done romantic numbers in the past. So, there was never too much dancing involved. Madhuri and I are coming together after a long gap (11 years) and it will be the first time I’ll make her dance properly. Both of us are thrilled about it,” says Farah, who will also direct Ranbir Kapoor for the first time in this special number that is yet to be shot.

“Ranbir and I have always wanted to work together and now we’ve finally got a chance. He’s a very good dancer, so I’m sure this song will be fun,” she says.

However, the choreographer is yet to begin work on the song. Talking about the track, she reveals, “From what I’ve been told, it will be an out-and-out dance number and it will be composed by Pritam.”
