Farhan Akhtar's new song champions women's rights

Actor-filmmaker-singer Farhan Akhtar has released a new single Chulein Aasman, to drive home the message that the girl child is no 'paraye ghar ki amanat'.

Actor-filmmaker-singer Farhan Akhtar has released a new single Chulein Aasman, to drive home the message that the girl child is no 'paraye ghar ki amanat'.



Made in collaboration with Salim Merchant, the song is penned by Farhan and Shraddha Pandit. Salim and Sulaiman have composed music for the piece directed by Vineet Sawant.

One interesting aspect of the video is that it features women are shown in very generic attire in it -- sarees and suits, unlike several other corporate campaigns where empowered women get into either western dresses or extremely masculine attires.







Farhan has joined hands with Google’s Helping Women Get Online initiative, alongwith MARD (Men Against Rape and Discrimination) for the progressive movement to promote a gender-equal world. MARD (started by Farhan Akhtar) aspires to propagate a significant change in our society, gathering support for women empowerment.
