Ghanchakkar earns over Rs 22 crore on first weekend

Despite receiving flak from critics on the day of its release, Ghanchakkar has managed to earn Rs 22.3 crore at box office over its first weekend. The Emraan Hashmi, Vidya Balan-starrer film opened to a slow start, earning Rs 7.2 crore on Friday.

The earnings remained almost similar on Saturday and Sunday when Ghanchakkar averaged Rs 7.3 crore Rs 7.8 crore respectively.

Overseas, too the collections were decent. Ghanchakkar earned NZ$ 7,821 (Rs 3.60 lakhs) in New Zealand and Australia collections averaged at A$ 27,979 (Rs 15.23 lakhs). The movie earned £ 58,413 (Rs 52.90 lakhs) while USA-Canada collections averaged at $ 52,800 (Rs 31.43 lakhs) from 89 screens on Friday.
