The 69-year-old actor was operated on February 11 and was recovering at the Seven Hills Hospital for 12 days. He is currently recuperating at home.

"Many ask how I am doing... I am repairing well and gradually, but it does take time, is all I can say... will persevere to hasten it," Bachchan wrote on micro blogging site Twitter on Sunday.

The actor, who has hundreds of fans lined outside his house every Sunday, said despite being instructed to take rest he will meet them.

"Gosh ! Another Sunday? But we just had one the other day!! Surprising how time flies even when you do nothing. Will attempt to meet the fans and well wishers like all Sundays at the gate... if they come!!," Bachchan said.
