Actor Imran Khan says that it is only the process of filmmaking that interests him and not the fame that accompanies it. The 32-year-old says that unlike many of his contemporaries, he is not fond of being in the limelight. “My reason for working are different than that of a lot of other people. A lot of people work for fame. They do movies, social appearances and are very active on Twitter and Instagram. Across a variety of media, people work and do things to bolster your stardom. That is their personal stardom. That doesn’t attract me. To me, the only interesting thing is the process of making a movie. And as a by-product, you become recognisable and famous. But that is not my motivation,” he says.

The actor adds that he only wants to use his stardom to promote his projects and nothing else. “When I was on a break, I stayed out of everything. I didn’t have people sending out stories. I was not giving interviews. It serves the purpose of promoting my films and has no other value personally,” says Imran, who was last seen in Katti Batti, after a gap of two years.
