Narain Karthikeyan is currently in red-hot form in the GP World Series, and though the motor racer has received some Bollywood offers too, he says he’d rather focus on his sport. “I have received several film offers but I am a little fearful of taking them up since making films is not a piece of cake,” says the 36-year-old.

Asked if races are projected authentically in Indian films, the man from Coimbatore says, “Some (portrayals) are just about okay, although I thought Race 2 (starring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone) was alright.” As for his favourite female Bollywood star, he prefers to remain non-committal.

Just like the racer is a premier name in motorsport, another famous name in another sport, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, has recently decided to quit the game. So what does one champion think about another? “Sachin is an inspiring figure. He lifts us all. It has been great to know him and his advice has always been very useful. He has constantly supported me in my career. I know he is a fan of F1. I will miss not seeing him on the sporting field again,” he says.
