Actor Sara Khan’s personal life has often made headlines. She got married to TV actor Ali Merchant on a reality show (in 2010), which grabbed a lot of attention. They separated after two months. The actor was also in the news last year for her rumoured wedding with Delhi-based businessman Rishabh Tandon.

Reports now suggest that these two have parted ways as well. “I’m not with anybody at the moment,” says Sara. “There are times when you fall in love with a person, and feel like you belong with him or her. But if it doesn’t work out, you need to step out of it,” she adds.

The actor also feels that “no one has the right to talk about her personal life”. “(But) if people still want to talk about it, I don’t care,” Sara says. The actor adds that she will never “deny” or “lie” about being in a relationship. “People always find out. I am open about my relationships, whether I am with someone or not,” she says.
Sara recently bagged a role in a Pakistani TV show. Her co-star, Noor Hassan, is a celebrated actor in the neighbouring country. Sara says she was “excited” to find out that she would be working with him. “I am a fan of Pakistani TV shows and the simplistic way in which they are made,” she adds. Does she feel that Indian shows should also be made in a similar manner? “We should do shows that come to us naturally. Content that surprises the audience will attract them. It depends on what the audience wants,” she says.
