Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s upcoming release, Dekh Indian Circus (DIC), has received a lot of praise in the international film festival circuit. And even though it bagged the National Award for Best Children’s Film earlier this year, there are many people who have never heard of the movie.

Now producer-director Imtiaz Ali, who has turned presenter for this project, has taken it upon himself to market the film and make sure it reaches a wide audience. “I never thought I would present a film. I always believed I could only direct movies and that’s what I would continue to do. But when I watched DIC, I knew that this film deserved to reach every viewer in this country,” says Imtiaz, who accepts that he did not envision a National Award for the film, but was certain of its positive reception in the global market. “I knew it had national and international accolades written all over it. It’s an entertaining and emotional movie that will definitely touch the audience’s hearts.”
