Irrfan Khan is truly magical: Sushant Singh Rajput

His stellar performance in Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che won him plenty of rave reviews, but debutant Sushant Singh Rajput claims that he’s got plenty to learn — from veteran actor Irrfan. Sushant Singh Rajput takes inspiration from the veteran actor, who in turn heaps praise on the young debutant.

Apparently, Sushant is a huge fan of Irrfan. A source says, “Sushant feels that Irrfan is one of the finest actors in the industry and that he can learn a lot from him about acting and projecting yourself in front of the camera. He has watched many of Irrfan’s films and believes that he has a strong screen presence —
something he would like to achieve too.”

The young actor is full of praise for Irrfan. “He is one of the finest actors I have seen. He inspires me and I learn so much just by observing his performances. He is truly magical,” says Sushant.

Meanwhile, the older actor too is effusive in complimenting the newbie. “Sushant has a unique mix of charm, intensity and talent,” he says.

After the success of Kai Po Che, Sushant already has a few roles in hand. He’s currently juggling shoots for Rajkumar Hirani’s P.K., which stars Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma and Sanjay Dutt, with a Yash Raj Film directed by Maneesh Sharma. In the latter, he’s paired with Parineeti Chopra.

Rumours have been doing the rounds that he has recently declined offers from Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. However, Sushant’s spokesperson clarifies, “So far, he has not been contacted by either. They are huge names in the industry, so if he was approached, why would he decline such good offers?”
