“It’s a clean family entertainer and even the action is not the kind you’d expect from a Sunny or Dharamji film. It’s along the lines of the original, but since the story demanded a foreign location, 90 per cent of the film will be shot in and around London,” says director Sangeeth Sivan who, after replacing Samir Karnik, has been working on the script with writer Jasvinder Bath for seven months.

“It was difficult because unlike other sequels, we had three characters played by three popular actors who were family and had to be given equal prominence. Fortunately, they all liked it and I’m free to have fun with the comic caper.”

However, none of the female actors — Nafisa Ali, Emma Brown Garett and Kulraj Randhawa — have been repeated. “We were looking for a girl who looked like she was from UK to star opposite Sunny. We cast Kristina Akheeva, a model from Australia with a background in theatre. She’s perfect since she has family living in India and has been visiting frequently. She can even speak Hindi,” explains Sangeeth.
