Jimmy Shergil wants to do comedy films

After doing a number of serious roles in films like Sahib, Biwi Aur Gangster and Tanu Weds Manu, actor Jimmy Shergil says he now wants to star in a comedy film.

After doing a number of serious roles in films like Sahib, Biwi Aur Gangster and Tanu Weds Manu, actor Jimmy Shergil says he now wants to star in a comedy film.

I feel as an actor, you should do different roles. So, after doing all these serious roles in my films, I really want to do a light-hearted film. It will be
a challenge for me,” says Shergil.

The 42-year-old actor says he struggled hard to get rid of the romantic hero image after the success of Mohabbatein (2000). “I started my career with Maachis (1996) but Mohabbatein established me as an actor. I am grateful to the film but I never wanted the image of a romantic hero in Bollywood. It was a conscious decision to do serious roles to break that image,” he says.

The actor has wrapped up shooting for multi-starrer gangster drama Special Chabbis and Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster 2. He is also working on Dhulia’s next project Bullet Raja with actor Saif Ali Khan.
