Actor Irrfan Khan, who was attacked with a

kangri

(pot filled with hot coal) in Kashmir while shooting for filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj’s Haider recently, says that the incident should not be blown out of proportion.

"It was a miniscule incident as compared to the entire Kashmir issues which is so complicated. The local Kashmiris have gone through humongous trauma and the problems that they are facing are unimaginable."

The actor says that the

kangri

didn’t hit either him or his co-star Shahid Kapoor, who was with him at the time of the incident. "Everyone will have their own interpretation of the

incident

. So it is not right to harp on it. There are bigger problems in Kashmir which need to be addressed," says the 47-year-old.

Apart from shooting for

Haider

, Irrfan is kicked about his Punjabi film Qissa winning the Dioraphte Award at the Rotterdam Film Festival – a first for an Indian film.
