The last film Karisma Kapur was seen in was Mere Jeevan Saathi (2006). The actor, who has been planning her comeback to Bollywood for a while now, will return to a film set with her acting cap on, after almost half a decade this September, when Vikram Bhatt’s Dangerous Ishq goes on floors next month.
Even though Karisma made a guest appearance in the title song of Farah Khan’s debut film, Om Shanti Om (2007), the upcoming 3D film will mark her official comeback.
“We will start shooting on September 10,” confirms actor Rajneesh Duggal (30), who will be playing the 37-year-old actor’s love interest in the film.
Ask whether the age difference between the couple seems odd, and the 1920 (2008) actor says, “I don’t think there is any problem. I’m 30 and have a versatile face, while she is a talented actor and looks very young,” he insists, adding that he has “always admired Karisma’s work”.
“She has a successful commercial run in the industry and has done good films like Fiza (2000), Zubeidaa (2001) and Shakti (2002). I’ve been watching her movies for many years now and I’m looking forward to working with her.”
Dangerous Ishq spans five eras and in each, Karisma and Rajneesh find themselves locked in love. The actors will be seen playing characters from different generations in the project, which will be directed and produced by Bhatt.
Riding high on the reported success of his previous film Haunted 3D, the filmmaker decided to shoot this one in 3D as well.
The film will be Duggal’s third project with Bhatt after 1920. Currently, he is looking forward to the release of his next, Phhir,
on August 12.

Confident that Ramadan and a competing release, Aarakshan, will not affect the romantic thriller’s business, Rajneesh adds, “It’s also a long weekend. So my film will stay in theatres.”
