Lootera averages Rs 19 crore over weekend

Matching the critics' reviews and great word of mouth, Vikramditya Motwane's Lootera has collected Rs 19 crore over the weekend. Made on a budget of Rs 39 crore, that makes for a good start for Lootera.

Critics applauded Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha-starrer Lootera and the word of mouth for the film, too, was good. The overall weekend collection for the movie at the ticket window amounted to Rs 19 crore.

Lootera opened to an average box office collection of Rs 5.15 crore on Friday. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said that the movie had picked up 25-30% in the following days, making the total weekend collection around Rs 19 crore.

Talking about limited exposure to the Sonakshi Sinha, Ranveer Singh-starrer, Bollywood Hungama wrote, "Given the extraordinary response that has been generated from the previews of the film, the film is poised to be a good one at the urban multiplexes. In fact, rather than going wide, Balaji is giving the film a contained and focused release essentially in the urban centers."
