Lots of stars are celebrating Christmas with friends and family today, but, come December 27, some of them will continue the festivities with children from various institutions. Raveena Tandon, Boman Irani, Shreyas Talpade and Mandira Bedi will meet children who have survived cancer (from the Cancer Patients Aid Association), kids from the Salaam Bombay Foundation, and other NGOs like Akanksha and Teach For India.
With several TV stars also set to attend the event, the kids are said to be very excited to meet them, and are preparing an act to make the day memorable for the celebrity guests. "The children are going to put up a performance, following which the actors will distribute gifts, and have lunch with them," says one of the organisers of the event. The kids will also participate in a dance competition that will be judged by choreographer Ganesh Acharya.
When contacted, Raveena said, "I have always loved to associate with anything to do with children. I make it a point to attach myself to at least one such cause in a year, because it’s so rewarding. The moment you go to an event with children around, you get to revisit your childhood. There is so much positive energy that you take back from them. I’m truly grateful for this opportunity to spend time with these children."
