Mobile phones banned on Shirish Kunder's Joker set

Director Shirish Kunder has become a bit paranoid ever since some images from his forthcoming film Joker got leaked on to the web some time ago. To ensure that the event doesn’t repeat itself on a larger scale this time, the filmmaker has banned the use of mobile phones on the film set altogether.

The rule was implemented days before he was to start shooting the item number ‘Kafirana…’ that features Chitrangda Singh.

Confirming the news, he says, “Someone was found recoding bits and pieces of the shooting again. That person was caught and the recording was deleted. I have banned use of mobile phones on the sets now. Especially during the shoot of Chitrangda’s item song. We have also erected a very huge set. So we wanted to protect its look as well.”

Co-Produced by Kunder’s production, Three’s Company and UTV Motion Pictures, Joker supposedly revolves around some creatures from outer space, who change the life of a simple individual. Kunder is also planning an extensive postproduction schedule for the Akshay Kumar-Sonakshi Sinha starrer sci-fi film.

The film will release in 2D and 3D. But it has not been shot in 3D. Will the quality of the up-converted version match the films that are shot in 3D? “After making Avatar (2009), James Cameron has himself converted Titanic (1997) in to 3D,” says Kunder. “Prime Focus has made some of the biggest 3D films in Hollywood like The Chronicles Of Narnia (2010) and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part Two. And they are the ones, who are working on my film as well.”
