This year’s Cannes Film Festival has a desi connect beyond Bollywood. An Indian-origin filmmaker settled in Australia, Varun Sharma is all set to screen his film, Adjust, at the big-ticket do.

The 12-minute film is a coming-of-age comedy that follows the initial days of an Indian student in Australia. Sharma says that for most youngsters, these days aren’t just about violence, as portrayed in the media of late.

“My aim was to highlight the positives and present the story with a ‘feel good’ element, instead of using a dark and abstract approach to portray the negatives,” he says.
