Initially labelled the ‘mystery woman’ that cricketer Virat Kohli was spotted shopping with in Singapore, Brazilian model Izabelle Leite is now in the news for Sixteen, her debut film.

Soon after the incident, reports suggested that she had moved to Mumbai and was visiting New Delhi frequently. Virat, too, had walked out of a press conference when asked about her. The two maintained a stoic silence about their alleged relationship, but Izabelle has finally spoken out.

“I don’t care, because this happens even when I go out with famous friends in Brazil. It holds true for the entire world, not just India. What can I do about it?” she shrugs, adding, “People can make up, say and also write whatever they want, right?”

A few days ago, the 22-year-old was in the news again for her ‘friendship’ with Tanuj Virwani, her co-star in another yet-untitled film. “Now, I’m friends with Tanuj, and if we go out together, people say I am dating him. But it’s okay, they can create whatever (stories) they want. I don’t care,” she says.

Ask Izabelle about her debut Bollywood film and she gets excited. She says, “It’s the first time I’ve done such a big project, so I’m really looking forward to it. I underwent a few workshops, but it was very tough for me. Before the film, I couldn’t even speak English properly. I worked hard on the language.”

Now based in Mumbai, the Brazilian says that she never thought about doing movies when she came to India. “They just happened. It’s not like I came to India with movies in mind. I didn’t even know what Bollywood was,” says the model-turned-actor, who is already onto her second film by Eros.
