After fevered reports that Priyanka has bowed out of the ambitious Bharat, Priyanka’s return to Bollywood after three years in America where she did films and a TV show, Ali Abbas took to Twitter on Thursday morning. “Yes Priyanka Chopra is no more part of @Bharat_TheFilm & and the reason is very very special, she told us in the Nick of time about her decision and we are very happy for her ... Team Bharat wishes @priyankachopra loads of love & happiness for life,” he wrote. Bharat’s shooting started a few days ago and Priyanka was expected to join it in August.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas were recently in Mumbai, where Nick met her Mother Dr Madhu Chopra.

However, pictures from her intimate dinner for industry friends, her holiday-in-a-holiday (which also had actor Parineeti Chopra in it) in Goa with beau Nick and finally her presence at the Ambani engagement bash with Nick in tow, was lapped up by all with gusto. The couple also made their relationship Instagram official and was often spotted together with Nick’s family in New York.

Meanwhile, with Salman as its lead, Bharat also stars the young sensation, Disha Patani. Priyanka is currently in Mumbai and is busy with Shonali Bose’s film, The Sky is Pink, reportedly the true-life story of Ayesha Chaudhary.

Speculation has already started who will replace Priyanka in Bharat. Online chatter is zeroing in on Katrina Kaif, Salman’s ex-girlfriend and his co-star from the succesful Tiger Zinda Hai and Ek Tha Tiger. It may be recalled that the Quantico actor was to be paid a hefty Rs 6.5 crore for her role in Bharat, as per a DNA report, making her the third highest paid female actor, with Deepika Padukone and Kangana Ranaut leading the show. Bharat also stars Tabu and Sunil Grover in prominent roles.

Salman had earlier welcomed Priyanka to the Bharat team with a tweet. She had also replied, writing, “Very happy to be a part of #Bharat and see all of u on set!! @beingsalmankhan @atulreellife @aliabbaszafar #Eid2019.”

Salman and Priyanka have worked in a number of films together in the past. These include God Tussi Great Ho, Mujhse Shaadi Karoge and Salman-e-Ishq. Priyanka is also part of a Hollywood project, Isn’t It Love? She was seen shooting with Rebel Wilson and Liam Hemsworth on the streets of New York for the film.
