Rakul Preet Singh: Getting noticed in a film is never on my mind

Yaariyan actor Rakul Preet Singh says she wants to play characters that the audience would enjoy and appreciate.

For actor Rakul Preet Singh, the character she portrays in a film matters more than the length of her role. Perhaps that’s the reason, she doesn’t even have qualms while signing films opposite an established actor. The actor, who made her Bollywood debut with Yaariyan (2014) will next be seen in Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary that also stars actors Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee.

About the film, the actor adds, “There are certain projects that you don’t think twice before accepting. I had always wanted to work with Neeraj sir, so when he told me about the film, I couldn’t let it go. I won’t even question, if [in case] my role gets shortened.”

“Getting sidelined or not getting noticed in an ensemble film or a film having established actors, is never on my mind. The character I am playing is important. Look at the way Taapsee [Pannu] made an impact with her role in Baby (2015). I can’t decide the fate of my films, but I make sure that I give my best, so that people enjoy and appreciate my work. My aim is to do at least a bunch of good films that I should be proud of when I look at my career graph,” says Rakul.
