Vikramjit Singh's directorial debut Roy has started off on an impressive note on the ticket windows, collecting Rs 10.4 crore on the day of its release.
The film, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandes, was dissed by the critics. Still, given the opening day collections, Ranbir could now heave a sigh of relief considering that this was his first film to hit the screens after a year. He plays a conman in the film, with Arjun and Jacqueline as filmmakers.
It will be interesting to keep a tab on the film's weekend collection: Will the hype around Ranbir sustain or will the numbers slide? Watch this space for updates on the box office report.
