Unwarranted speculations are a part and parcel of every celeb’s life, but for actor Rana Daggubatti, things seem to have taken a rather hilarious turn. Talking about some of the bizarre rumours doing the rounds about him, the 29-year-old laughs, saying, “I’ve already been married off three-four times, and once I’ve even been made to have a destination wedding!”

Daggubati says that he was once at a palace resort in Udaipur for a friend’s wedding, and the next morning, reports about his ‘secret destination wedding’ were all over the place. “And I was like, ‘Hey, what’s this? I can’t even go for my friend’s wedding or what!’,” says the actor, who made his debut with the Telugu blockbuster Leader (2010), and forayed into Bollywood the very next year with Dum Maaro Dum wherein he was seen romancing Bipasha Basu. In fact, soon after, reports about the two dating in real life had taken gossip mills by the storm, too. Rubbishing such rumours, Daggubati says, “That’s yet another imaginary story.”

Do such rumours make his family uncomfortable, or did it affect his friendship with Bips? “Not at all. My family has been in the (film) industry for over 50 years now, so they don’t get bothered by such stuff. And Bipasha is a great friend. She’s been around longer than me, and more used to hearing hundreds of such things. One has to get used to ignoring such stuff,” says Daggubati, who’s kicked about two of his upcoming projects — a multi-lingual and a Bollywood flick alongside Akshay Kumar. “Last two years, I’ve only been shooting as my multilingual film is an elaborate mythological drama,” says the actor, who will apparently not be seen romancing any of the leading ladies in the Bollywood film. Any regrets? “Cinema is not only about romance now, there’s action, mystery and so much more,” he wraps up.
