In addition, Venice will screen a restored version of the landmark 1973 classic, Duvidha, made available again by the NFDC, in memory of the late Mani Kaul, who passed away recently. Nina Lath Gupta, managing director of NFDC, says, “Indian contemporary cinema is about to get a facelift. It’s a laboratory of the various modes of expression in the visual arts within the larger workshop.”

Venice’s Orizzonti 2011 reinvents the relationship between cinema and the literary narration beyond the conventional forms.
