Shakti Kapoor's son approached for Satte Pe Satta remake

Siddhanth Kapoor, iconic Bollywood villain Shakti Kapoor’s son, might be making his silver screen debut with Sanjay Gupta’s Shootout At Wadala (SAW), but the first project he was offered was actor Sanjay Dutt’s remake Satte Pe Satta.

Siddhanth Kapoor, iconic Bollywood villain Shakti Kapoor’s son, might be making his silver screen debut with Sanjay Gupta’s Shootout At Wadala (SAW), but the first project he was offered was actor Sanjay Dutt’s remake of the 1982 Amitabh Bachchan-Hema Malini hit Satte Pe Satta. Interestingly, the young actor’s father played one of Amitabh’s younger brothers in the Raj Sippy film, which was inspired by Seven Brides For Seven Brothers (1954).

Says Siddhanth, “I was considered for the Satte Pe Satta remake, but nothing is finalised. I don’t know what the status is since I have not been contacted.”

Siddhanth, who plays the part of a sharp shooter in SAW, was keen to make his Bollywood debut with an out-and-out commercial flick. “But it’s great to get such a intense film, based on a true story,” he adds.

Siddhanth approached Gupta himself as he could identify with some of the characters from Shootout At Lokhandwala (SAL), which is being reported as a sequel to SAW.

“This film also falls under the same genre. So I thought I would be able to justify a role in it. I felt I could play certain characters in SAL, so I somehow convinced Sanjay and now I am on board,” says the actor, who will be seen along with John Abraham and Vivek Oberoi in the film. “The female lead is not decided yet, as far I know. We still have time, as it goes on the floors in three months.”
