Sonakshi Sinha's cousin gets a ticket to Bollywood

After Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor, another star sibling is set to enter Bollywood. Sonakshi Sinha’s cousin Bhavna Ruparel will make her acting debut in a lead role with debutant director Pritish Chakraborty’s Chalo Pichchur Banate Hai (CPBH) later this year.

“The whole team comprises mostly debutants, so it was fun working with a fresh bunch of people,” says Bhavna, who has recently finished shooting the film, wherein she plays actor Rahil Tandon’s love interest. For the uninitiated, the latter made a rather non-memorable debut with Red Chillies’ Men Will Be Men in 2011.

A movie about a movie, CPBH, revolves around the story of a determined filmmaker and his journey from being a fourth assistant director to finally being able to call the shots. “It’s a film within a film, that’s how I describe it best,” she adds.

However, unlike the case with most star cousins, this film is not Bhavna’s first stint in front of the camera. She first stepped up when she was only eight years old. “I played the role of the young Pooja Bedi in (director) Ken Ghosh’s music video of ‘Pehla nasha…’. Then I essayed the part of actor Esha Deol’s sister in Na Tum Jano Na Hum (2002), followed by a role in Jogger’s Park (2003), in which I played Victor Banerjee’s niece; I was in class 10 then,” reveals Bhavna, who has also bagged a yet-untitled Telegu film, which she will start shooting for in November.
