Sonam and Priyanka promote cousins’ film

Working on the initial marketing discussions, the team at Yash Raj Films had planned to have the two leading ladies launch the theatrical trailer that was released on Thursday, says the film’s official spokesperson. “But later Adi (Aditya Chopra) felt the trailer should only be released digitally. It became a success on the web within hours of release,” he adds.

That didn’t stop the two stars from supporting their cousins via their Twitter accounts and mobile phone chats. On Thursday, Priyanka’s chat status read: Go Pari and Arjun! while Sonam had written: Arjun with a smiley. The latter also tweeted: “My brother Arjun’s trailer of Ishaqzaade comes out in a few minutes. It’s gonna be brilliant. Congrats Parineeti and Arjun.”
