Bollwyood actor Sonam Kapoor, who married long time boyfriend Anand Ahuja on May 8 - just days before she left for her red carpet appearance at the 71st Cannes Film Festival -- is rumoured to have worn a wedding ring that cost a whopping Rs 90 lakh and a custom-made mangalsutra that had the sun signs of Sonam and Anand engraved on it.
A Bollywoodlife report claimed Sonam’s “custom-made holy mangalsutra has their sun signs – Sonam’s Gemini and Anand’s Leo on each side of the solitaire that’s placed in between”. Sonam’s wedding ring was worth Rs 90 lakh, it added.
While Neha Dhupia, who recently tied the knot with actor Angad Bedi in a low-key ceremony in Delhi, was gifted a family heirloom. A source close to the couple told Hindustan Times that the wedding ring has been passed on for generations and this is the third generation which is wearing it. “This is a family legacy that is now passed on to Neha and Angad. His parents have been married for the past 40 years and now they want to see the happiness and togetherness forever for the newly-weds. The ring signifies those sentiments,” the source added.
