Time for sports: Kangana Ranaut in Tanu Weds Manu 2

Kangana Ranaut to train on the sets of Anand L Rai's next -- a sequel to Tanu Weds Manu -- to look the part of a professional triple jump athlete in the film that will be directed by actor Navdeep Singh.

Playing a sportsperson on screen seems to have become a new trend in Bollywood. Kangana Ranaut is the latest actor to join the bandwagon. However, unlike Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra — who played real-life characters Milkha Singh and Mary Kom in their respective biopics — Kangana will play a fictional athlete in her next.

Apart from her regular physical trainer, Aakash Kuchekar, who will be travelling with her for the shoots, the actor will be joined by Suneeta Dubey — a triple jumper — who will help her train for the part.

Shooting for the film has begun in Lucknow, but the portions where she is shown playing the sport are likely to be filmed in Chandigarh. Kangana will practise during these schedules. Kuchekar and Dubey will work in tandem to get Kangana in shape. They will focus on her core muscles and legs, which require maximum attention for such a sport.
