The three-day IIFA event will see a number of Bollywood stars such as Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rekha perform while Karan Johar will host the event.
Come June 22-24, Bangkok will see a galaxy of Bollywood stars descend on the Thai capital. In the run-up to the awards ceremony, IIFA has been organising a number of press conferences. One such an event was held in Mumbai which saw Bollywood stars Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Ayushmann Khurrana, Bobby Deol and veteran actor Rekha.
The three-day IIFA event will see a number of Bollywood stars perform while ace producer-director Karan Johar will host the event. The stars expected to perform include Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor and Iulia Vantur. These stars will perform at the IIFA Awards whereas stars like Ayushmann Khurrana, Kriti Sanon, Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha and Vaani Kapoor will take part in IFFA Rocks.
Speaking at the press conference, Bobby Deol, who is promoting Race 3, said how people’s affection and support mattered more than awards and critical acclaim.
Rekha, who was present at the press conference, will be performing at the IIFA awards too.
Varun Dhawan, one of the most sought after actors in Bollywood today, too posed for shutterbugs. Varun is at a career as he balances box office hits like Judwaa 2 with critically acclaimed films such as October.
Kriti Sanon and Ayushmann Khurrana are among the younger lot of actors who have delivered box office successes such as Bareilly Ki Barfi! together.
To the uninitiated, IIFA was first organised in 2000 and is a roving awards function that has been held in 18 international centres already. Bangkok will be the 19th venue to host the awards.
