Director Remo D’Souza’s ambitious dance drama, Street Dancer 3D, hit the screens on Friday worldwide. The director took to Instagram to share huge posters of the film’s lead star cast, Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor, adorning the iconic Times Square in New York.

Sharing the pictures, he wrote: “Now this is something I never imagined coz a month back when me and @lizelleremodsouza were at #timessquare she said if you want to give me something very spl then make sure once in lifetime your poster should be on this square, and I promised her I will do it , but so soon ? I never ever thought:))) so thank you @bhushankumar @lizelleremodsouza @varundvn @shraddhakapoor @norafatehi @dharmesh0011 @punitjpathakofficial @raghavjuyal @sushi1983 @iamkrutimahesh @rahuldid @salmanyusuffkhan @yusuf20khan and #team #streetdancer3d for making my this #DREAM come true.”

Remo spoke about a conversation with his wife Lizelle where she had expressed a desire for a gift; that being a poster of Remo’s film on Times Square. Remo had promised that he would try. However, the ABCD director expressed happiness with an element of shock as he didn’t expect to happen so soon.

 

While Varun plays an Indian in London, Shraddha’s character Inayat is from Pakistan. The arch rivals clash again but this time on the streets of London and via dance. Speaking about his character Sahej, Varun had said that late social media star Danish was the one who inspired Sahej.

The actor had shared a photo of the late Danish along with a picture of himself to show the similarity of the look. In the post, Varun also tagged his stylist Aalim Hakim who created his look for the film, and gave credit to director Remo D’Souza for suggesting the get-up.

Varun captioned: “The handsome DANISH was the inspiration for SAHEJ’s look in #streetdancer. Danish is no more and is in a better place but is loved by so many so I thought I should share this so people should know that he even inspired us. @remodsouza sir suggested this look and @aalimhakim bhai executed it superbly. Love and respect #danish”.
