After his small-screen contemporaries Sushant Singh Rajput and Manish Paul got their breaks in films, TV actor Vikrant Massey is following suit.

Although he had a small role in Vikramaditya Motwane’s Lootera (2013), his first lead role will be in director Mustafa Raj’s debut film.

Vikrant is popular for his roles in shows like Qubool Hai, Yeh Hai Aashiqui, Balika Vadhu, Dharam Veer and Baba Aise Vaar Dhoondo.
Confirming the news, he says, "After doing lots of television shows, I am very excited to do this film. My character has shades of grey and I love that about the role."
The actor may feel encouraged by the success of Sushant, who has two releases so far, and a bunch of film-makers keen on working with him.
He had started his career with the show Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil, but it was Pavitra Rishta that made his a household name.
He went on to quit the latter — which also starred girlfriend Ankita Lokhande — in order to pursue a Bollywood career. Manish, on the other hand, has had one release, which didn’t fare too well.
